The United States was not justified in the dropping the atomic bombs on Japan in World War II. An estimated 200,000 innocent Japanese civilians became victims, it cost the United States billions of dollars, and it affected Japan's environment or many years to come.

For 3 years previous to the atomic bombing on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United States has dropped bombs on 67 cities in japan. However, Nagasaki and Hiroshima were the first cities to have an atomic bomb bestowed upon them. It virtually wiped out the popluation from the day it was dropped and the affects of it killed more people for months to come. Most of the people who died were innocent civilians. But the United States got what they wanted, and Japan surrendered the war.
